Eligibility Criteria for the Prize
These are the eligible criteria for this prestigious prize:
1. Publication Year Criteria
Applicants must submit applications to books published one year preceding the prize by African-domiciled publishers.
2. Language Criteria
All books submitted must be published in at least one of the official languages recognized by the African Union. They are:
English, Arabic, Portuguese, French, Spanish, Swahili, or any other known African languages.
3. Quality Standards Criteria
It is good to know that all books would be judged based on writing quality, editing, and production. In addition, priority would be placed on books published in Africa and published in an indigenous African language.

These are the benefits for winners of this prize:
1. Financial Benefits
The winner of this prize would be eligible for $20,000. On the other hand, the 4 runner-ups would be entitled to $2,000.
2. Global Recognition
Your participation in this prize would lead to the showcasing of your work at the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) in Algeria. The date for this exhibition would span from September 4 – 10, 2025.
